Another Series change – YUMA cancelled.

Well, another day another change. 10/22 YUMA event has been cancelled. Venue fees, travel costs, and competing events make YUMA a financial challenge. Anyone registered will receive a refund (or a transfer to another AZ CROSS Series event). Still lots of racing remaining in the season –

San Tan Racing is hosting a FREE CX clinic this weekend – check it out here.

Globe is just two weeks away – are you ready? Register here.

Update – 10/30 Tucson event cancelled

Not for lack of effort, the University of Arizona Cycling Program has been unable to finalize a venue for the October 30 race in Tucson. The Program was hoping to host the event in conjunction with Cyclovia Tucson

Numerous attempts to work with City Parks, an TUSD (Tucson Unified School District) – have yielded no results.

So, as a result the event has been cancelled.

Flat Tire Cross p/b Flat Tire Bikes

Here we go – about two weeks to the season opener here in Arizona. The traditional host to the first round of the Series, Globe is one of the “best”  courses – a bit of technical, a whole bunch of power sections, some climbing, and a great mix of dirt and grass.

Race venue here.

The CrankyCross crew does such a great job – with awesome support from Flat Tire Bikes. Race day schedule is posted online on the registration page. Make note of the new categories for the 2016 season. We have added additional junior category, and Master Women categories.

Yes, a USA Cycling racing license is required – either a one day (for some categories), or an annual racing license. Purchase either license in advance and save time on-site. Purchase USA Cycling licenses here.

Many thanks to long-time Series Sponsor CLIF Bar – there will be samples at registration, and a few winner’s awards.

YUMA CX added!

Part of our goal several years ago when we began to manage the Series, was to bring the cyclocross culture to more folks in Arizona. Over the years we have added Flagstaff, new venues in Tucson, and now YUMA – yes, YUMA. Triple Series points will be offered and a special separate First Timer  Juniors, Men’s and Women’s categories are on the schedule.

Many thanks to the community of Yuma, and Sonoran Cycles.

Saturday October 22 Gateway Park Yuma, AZ*

*USAC Permit and City of Yuma Permit pending.
